I continue to ride this wave of uncertainty which I've grown some unconscious, unexplainable avidity for. No matter how much I may openly crave calmness and stability, my inner-self longs for chaos and disorder. Where this comes from, I wish the answer would reveal itself.

Tomorrow, I have an interview scheduled with a temp agency who filled me in on a position which sounds just up my alley. Of course, therein lies the problem. After the recent, hostile takeover (yes, it was) of my current company, my position is "safe," according to the big wigs. Furthermore, last Friday's meeting on the new benefits package from the supreme overlords has tilted me, somewhat, back in their favor. It even puts Globex to shame.

And then we've got that road trip issue I've been nagging myself with. The biggest sticking point in that mess is the real estate company won't allow me to sub-let my apartment for a few months. Bastards. So here I am again at the crossroads without Lucifer to point me in the right direction. I have that sneaky suspicion I'll make the wrong decision...again.

Staying

Risk(s) - No long-term job security; possible relocation to Mafia Central
Reward - Full-time Benefits package + they still give out pensions!

Leaving

Risk(s) - No long-term job security; benefits on hold? (I'll find out about this tomorrow.)
Reward(s) - Change of scenery; job in the city => public transportation => less $ spent on gas

Can you stay for a while, make some bucks, get your vesting in their pension plan and then leave for greener pastures?

Since the Mega Company includes the time we worked at the one they just bought out, that is also a viable option.

Better than Globex? Can you put a hammock in your office? Is an ownership stake in the Denver Broncos also included?

The floor space in the cubicles is very roomy for that purpose. However, the air space? Not so much.

Funny you mention the Denver Broncos since this episode aired either the season of or the season before the Broncos won their first Super Bowl.

That episode is up there on my All-Time Simpsons Favorites list.

And yes, that is definitely another classic. I love Bob's "Col Jessup" moment on the stands at the end:
