There was a mass genocide of angels last night after the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers (again) in 5 games. I'm sure Crankypants is letting Austin hear all about it. Does this now mean vengeance will be accomplished by another group of Angels in the form of a baseball team? Not if the New York Spend-ees have anything to do with it. The Evil Empire is certainly poised to regain ownership of the baseball universe, given their payroll is a parsimonious $201 million dollars. Yes, I kid. Nothing would be finer for the largest group of frontrunning frauds who call themselves "Yankees fans." As it's told, it takes a bigmouth to eat a big apple.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to live in Yankee country as a fan of underdogs in general? I've found myself siding with the Red Sox fans mainly because, as a Cubs fan, I know how they feel. The Philly's definitely have my vote in this series...I've really become an anyone but the Yankees fan over the years.

I imagine where you are there's quite a few Red Sox fans spilling over from Vermont. However, the Sox fans have been spoiled the last few years with their success. But with the Yankees, they get placed upon some undeserved pedestal by the media.

It's true. Even up here, the morning after the Phillies clinched the pennant, the big bold headline on the sports page was about A-Rod. There was a photo of the Phillies celebrating, but the banner was all about the Yankees, who hadn't even played the day before.

Because A(ss) Rod and Derek Jeter are banging their respective flavors of the month at the same time. That's important in the New York media. Kate Hudson and Jessica Biel don't mind.
